Heading out of the New River was boring, passed several fishing boats, listened to the USMC play their daily war games.
As we were exiting the New River, our dear Canadians missed the turn for the ICW, so we had to turn around and head back. Only about a quarter mile mistake. As we were entering the ICW again,
Deb saw a sea turtle and was pointing it out to me. I, of course was dumb enough to look, and we hit a sandbar! We were on the wrong side of the marker! Dah!!
Of course, TOW Boat US was
going by and announced to the world that Misty Morn II was on the wrong side of the marker! Thanks man, I needed that!
We arrived at Wrightsville Beach around 1740. Nice anchorage, Lady Hawk
anchored nearby. Nice day of motorsailing!
We anchored and went ashore for dinner! Had a nice dinner and a couple of drinks!
When we arrived back to our boat, of course it was quite
dark, wind blowing and the current not helping matters, another Catamaran had anchored to our stern. He was an obnoxious pain in the butt! He anchored too close, causing our boats to be on a
collision course when they swung with the wind and current.
I got ticked and decided to move our boat to another spot! Problem! The anchorage is full and it is impossible to find a place
without causing some other poor soul the same problem we had!
So, much to Deb's shock and disagreement, I pulled into a private slip for the night! Deb did not sleep, she was waiting for the police
to come, we pulled out just before daylight and dropped anchor for about an hour waiting for the Canadians to wake up and start the day! (I slept quite well!)
Oh well, another entertaining day and night!
