Crossing the harbor in Charleston, SC, can be a little hard on the nerves if, it is after dark, it is raining hard enough not to see the bow of
your boat, and you have never been in these waters before. This explains our first crossing of the harbor, one we now laugh about. Many sailors provide notes for each ICA mile marker, and anchorages along
the way which when they are all combined, make great sailing aids to a first timer and to some seasoned cruisers. I have provided the chart below to cover the crossing from Mt. Pleasant to the Ashley River. I
find that using my GPS to cross the bigger bodies of water is of great assistance, especially after dark. Word of caution on Charleston harbor and the Ashley River, is that the tide is TREMENDOUS!
